House Florimel - Explorers, creators and decorators, the members of House Florimel run the day-to-day business of the castle, and the city.

House Gerard - Charged with the defense of Amber in every way, the children of Gerard and Julian (long since killed in battle) are joined by like-minded others.

House Clarissa - Most well-rounded of the houses, the descendants of Fiona, Bleys and Brand alternately attempt to gain control of and defend Amber, all the while looking for new power sources off in Shadow.

House Deirdre - Inhuman-looking as they tend to be, Deirdre and her children are Amber's strike force, and her emissaries in Shadow and The Courts.

House Llewella - The only house that rivals Random's in political power, Llewella is also one of the most active heads from her throne in Rebma.

House Corwin - more concerned with The Table than The Pattern, Corwin's house is the only one to include non-Amberites among its number. They protect The Table and guard it fanatically, along with the nearby Shadows.
